Roger Smithberg, CFP®, CIMA®

Roger Smithberg is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA^®), specializing in wealth management. Since 1990, Roger has been providing prudent financial advice and tailoring financial and investment strategies to the specific needs of his clients. He meets regularly with them to evaluate markets, objectives, risk tolerance, and the economy. In doing so, he provides outstanding service and financial guidance.

Roger leads a team of specialists who advise clients on wealth accumulation, preservation and transfer of assets, portfolio construction, estate planning, life insurance analysis, retirement income planning, and tax reduction with a special emphasis on comprehensive financial planning.

Roger graduated from Bradley University in 1988 with a B.S. in Finance. After pitching professionally for the Oakland Athletics, he earned his CFP® designation in 1997 from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. He also earned his CIMA^® designation in 2013 from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has been inducted into both the Bradley University Sports Hall of Fame and the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame.

Roger has remained active in the local community by volunteering for several organizations including the United Way, Judson University, Elgin Leadership Academy, City-Wide-Cleanup, Wasco Travel Baseball Organization, and the Larkin High School Booster Club.

Roger resides in the Elgin area with his wife Mary Kay and has three adult children.
